An historic and important event in the history of the newly formed state Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has released the water from Pattiseema Irrigation Scheme which is Marked as the first River linking water project in the Nation. As the commissioning of all the 24 water pumps were completed and in working good condition, Chandra Babu Naidu has released the water on this Wednesday. The Pattiseema Project has started its full-fledged functioning from today onwards. Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma, Agricultural Minister ,Other AP Ministers Peethala Sujatha, Kamineni Srinivas, P Manikyala Rao, Kollu Raveendra, several Andhra MPs, MLAs and TDP Party leaders were present to witness the Historical Event in the AP history.
The Pattiseem Project has the capacity to lift 80 tmcft of water in 110 flood days. The lifting water is to cater to the needs of farmers in Districts of Krishna and Guntur.
Normally the benefit of any irrigation project in India can be seen only after total completion, but with the Pattiseema farmers were benefited even before the project was completed. The Project has been completed in a specified stipulated time of one year which is considered as a record in Indian History whereas other Major irrigation projects had to be given several years to complete.
