Over 79% polling in Andhra Pradesh



Election Commission  said on Friday a little over 79 per cent voters are used their votes in   MLA 175 Seats for Andhra Pradesh Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats on Thursday 11th April.EC Officials said 79.05 per cent of voting  was recorded but this may go up further as final polling figure was yet to be received from  Guntur Mangalagiri Assembly Constitution .

The polling percentage has gone up very high percentage compared to 2014 Elections when 77.80 per cent turnout was Highest recorded.The E C has not yet taken a decision on the demand of some political parties for a repoll in a few polling booths in AP, where the poll process was Late and it was affected by malfunctioning Electronic Voting Machines.

Two persons were killed in clashes between workers of TDP and YSR Congress Party.
Nearly 400 polling stations continued beyond 6 p.m. and in some places voters cast their votes past upto midnight.EC had set up 46,120 polling stations for 3.93 crore voters.Total there were 319 candidates are fray for Lok Sabha seats while 2,118 candidates contested for Assembly polls.
