The
much-awaited for Andhra`s another railway zone for Visakhapatnam has at last
become true. The Union railway minister has approved the formation of South
Coastal new Railway Zone with Vizag as the headquarters.
This news was
announced by central railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav in reply to a question hour
by BJP member G V L Narasimha Rao in Rajya Sabha Session on this Friday.
He said the
detailed information on this project report for the Vizag railway zone was
accepted by the Central Union cabinet.
A New committee of
senior officials and other personals has
been appointed to look into the suggestions made for the DPR on the this new
railway zone.
The hitherto

“An Budget of Rs
170 crore has been allocated in this financial year’s budget and steps would be
taken for the construction of the new South Coastal Railway headquarters at Vizag

identified,” the Union minister said.
Needless to say,
the State BJP Party has claimed credit
for the formation of the new railway zone for Visakhapatnam, which has been the
long and most awaited pending demand for the people of the Andhra pradesh.
In fact, it was old
promised as part of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, but the Centre has been
dodging the same. Finally, the Centre has agreed for the same and took a
positive decision, and so, the BJP party takes credit for the same.
“It was only possible
because of the BJP, the railway zone has become a reality. AP State BJP been
consistently pursuing the same Issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has
showered the boon on the AP state,” BJP AP state president Somu Veerraju said.
