Recently, KTM India hinted at a new motorcycle, likely the 160 Duke. According to a report from Ackodrive, the company plans to unveil the RC 160 in addition to the naked sport model in India by August 2025. Initially, this bike was thought to be released in 2026, but the company appears to have revised its schedule to launch the bike with a supersport design sooner
Currently, KTM offers the RC 200 and RC 390 in the
Indian market, but it lacks options in the lower segment, which is dominated by
the Yamaha R15 V4. The RC 160 will compete with the R15 upon its launch.
Additionally, the new model is anticipated to feature a design similar to its
larger and older counterparts that have been available for some time. With a
full fairing, it is expected to exhibit the classic characteristics associated
with the RC lineup..
Before the
RC 160, the RC 125 was the entry-level model in the RC series, but it was discontinued because it
didn’t sell well. The price of the motorcycle probably influenced this choice.
Consequently, the brand must carefully consider its decisions this time to
ensure the new model captures buyers' interest. Notably, it will be the most
affordable option within the RC lineup in the Indian market.
